When your Personal Information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your Personal Information in accordance with RSPCA Victoria’s document retention and destruction policies and procedures. However, most of the Personal Information is or will be stored in electronic files which will be kept by us for a minimum of 7 years.
We are committed to ensuring the privacy of all Personal Information we collect. Certain compulsory obligations have been placed on organisations under the Privacy Act to notify specific types of data breaches (Notifiable Data Breaches “NDB”) to individuals affected by the breach as well as to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). An NDB is one that is likely to result in serious harm to any individual to whom the information relates. RSPCA Victoria is committed to ensuring the protection of all Personal Information and we will comply with the NDB obligations.
